Friday Five
Vitruvi diffuser: I recently got this diffuser and I'm already in love with it. It feels and looks so beautiful/expensive and it just adds the perfect touch to any area I put it in. I love the way that the light looks as well, It isn't a tacky blue LED light, it's an elegant, soft white light that goes great with my decor. At night it brings such a cozy vibe to the bench. Once I get more use out of this diffuser I will post a full review but so far I'm so happy with it.
2. New artwork: After removing my mirror from my bench I needed a new piece of artwork for this area and I'm glad I stumbled upon this one on etsy. I framed it using framebridge.com and framing definitely helps make even the most affordable prints look very elegant and expensive. It is very true to my style and it is pretty simple but it definitely makes a statement. I think it adds the perfect touch to my bench since I have so much wall space here.I also decided to go with a pewter frame as opposed to a brass or black frame which is what I have around my house and I am SO glad I did. It's just the perfect happy medium and it goes with everything!3. EM cosmetic True Gloss: This time of year I prefer glosses as opposed to liquid lipsticks or anything that takes a lot of effort to put on your lips so I'm happy I discovered these glosses. Not only is the color pay-off great for a gloss but the formula is excellent! It also wears off beautifully throughout the day which is very important for me because it means that I don't constantly have to be applying it over and over again. This is seriously all I've been wearing since I got them.4. Living room lamp: After being on the hunt for a living room floor lamp for months I was finally able to get my hands on this little guy. Sure, it's not anything out of this world but I wanted something simple that didn't remove the attention from the rest of my living room while still completing the space and I think this lamp fits in perfectly. It also gives me a very Scandinavian vibe, which I love to throw into my decor here and there because of how clean and simple the Scandinavian style is.5. Hair Scarfs: If you saw my recent video on "Easy Summer Hairstyles Using Scarf" you would've seen me talk about how much I'm loving hair scarfs at the moment for days when you just don't know what to do to your hair. I think it makes even your worst hair days look better and I also really love tying them around my bags, I feel like it makes anything look so on-season & playful without being over the top or tacky. Wayfair Registry
Aside from the magic of your big day as you're walking down the isle and everything is planned, done, executed and you are worry-free at last... weddings are notorious for being stressful. Almost everyone that has ever talked about wedding planning and every moment leading up to the wedding has attested to this notion. Because of this, I think that every step you can take to facilitate your wedding plans, no matter how small they are, are essential to the maintenance of your sanity.During this time, the less complicated something is, the better, and this is why we were so excited to learn that wayfair, one of our favorite home decor/improvement stores, has their own wedding registry!!! During the remodeling of our home we shopped at wayfair plenty of times and every single time was so easy & we found their registry process to be just the same.Sometimes it's difficult to find stores that have wedding registries that offer a wide selection of products from so many different categories for your home. With that said, I'm pretty sure you can find just about anything you're looking for on wayfair, so believe me when I say we are so incredibly thrilled to be able to have a single wedding registry that allows us to pick from such a broad range.Something that I also found very helpful was that wayfair registry offers a "group gifting" option, where guests can contribute a dollar amount to big-ticket items like sofas, large appliances, or home renovation needs like lighting fixtures, plumbing materials and more! This really helps people like us who bought a home before getting married and already have all of the smaller necessities.Enjoy $25 off your registry purchase of $50 or more with code WFGE25 You can visit our Wayfair registry HERE SHOP THE LOOK: Vase | Table Runner | Wood Bowl | Candle holder is vintage | Dining Table | Dining chairs Here are some of my registry picks.1. Candles Currently Burning
I really can't get enough of candles. I think I would actually prefer getting a candle as a gift than a perfume. Aside from the obvious fact that they can make an entire room smell good I really enjoy decorating with them. whether you've got a stack of books, magazines, or just an empty table, candles will tie everything together and make everything look and feel much more cozy.I know that this isn't the cheapest candle but I find that out of all of the candles that I own I have to burn this one for the least amount of time in order to get my entire living room to smell good, takes about 5-10 minutes for the area to smell amazing so you really do get your moneys worth... but on top of everything how gorgeous does it look?If you follow me on just about any social media you would know that I absolutely love Pf Candle Co. I love the simplicity of their design and I have yet to try a candle from them that I do not like. This candle in Piñon was actually just released this Tuesday August 15th and it is my favorite scent from them so far. Smells masculine, warm and fresh all at the same time, which is my favorite combination of scents for my home.Another one of their scents that I really love & is still a favorite is black fig Again, it is a very warm earthy scent which I also find very calming due to it's hints of lavender.Paddywax apothecary chamomile & figSpeaking of fig this is one of my first candles and I have repurchased it numerous times already. I really love the apothecary-esq bottle.. if you haven't noticed by now I have a thing for vintage looking bottles. Again, aside from how it looks it is a beautiful scent and one of the lighter/fresher scents that I own.If you guys are in the market for VERY inexpensive yet aesthetically pleasing candles please do yourself a favor and take a look at H&M Home's candles. This candle is slightly softer than the other candles I mentioned and not as potent but still a very nice scent and they last quite a long time despite how inexpensive they are.Manly Indulgence Candle in MidnightThis is my newest candle but it has already become one of my favorites. It is pretty big and only cost me $7.99 at marshalls so definitely check out marshalls candle section! This stuff is pretty potent as well but not overbearing at all and it smells very masculine and brings so much warmth to a space. I absolutely love it and have gotten nothing but compliments from everyone who walks in.Finally, I have this candle by mine design in cucumber mint at the entrance of my home. This candle isn't exactly the warmest candle but it is so perfect for hot summer days. Really reminds me of summer so I usually burn this one earlier in the day. A lot of people hate it when the glass gets stained like this but I actually like it. I think it makes things look a little more rustic and less perfect.
Top 10 Home Decor Stores
I felt the need to dedicate a post to my favorite home decor stores because I find these kinds of posts to be so helpful and they are some of my favorite posts to read. The following are in no particular order
Mid-Century Nightstand |
1. West Elm: No brainer, I can't get enough of this store. A lot of my furniture is from here and I absolutely love all of their decor pieces. Definitely the place to go for anything mid-century.2. Cb2: Every time I go on this website I have to literally stop myself from spending an arm and a leg on everything. Really love almost everything on there, such great designs no matter what you're looking for.3. Urban Outfitters: I love how unique the apartment section of urban outfitters online is. I purchased this day bed for my loft and I really love it. They have one of a kind pieces and the majority have such a vintage feel.
Lumbar pillow cover |
4. H&M Home: I've mentioned this store plenty of times already so of course it was going to make it to this list. If you're on a budget but you don't want to fill your house with cheap-looking decor check the home section of H&M online. They have the best decor and so, incredibly, affordable! I really love their pillow covers.5. World Market: You can find just about anything on world market. They have such beautiful unique furniture as well. Not to mention, I've had an amazing experience with their customer service.
Canisters |
6. Crate & Barrel: I mostly like crate and barrel for their kitchen section, which for me kind of falls under decor as well because since I have exposed shelves I want the things that I put on them to be aesthetically pleasing as well as functional and this store has such unique & beautiful kitchen accessories. I got my canisters from there and really love them, similarly to these canisters they have plenty of other very sleek decently priced canisters & believe me, I searched A LOT of stores for nice canisters.
7. Wayfair: When I have something in mind, especially lighting or furniture, one of the first places I check is wayfair. They have such amazing prices and dupes for pricier stores like West Elm. Most of my light fixtures are from here (not the one pictured) and I have had nothing but great experiences. I just advice, like with any purchase, to read the reviews before buying. My bed frame is also from here and even though I don't think it's the best quality at all for a heavy king bed (I have a king and the bottom of the bed frame broke, so I had to buy a replacement frame for under the bed).. I still think it's a ridiculously affordable purchase EVEN after having to fix it. Every other place I searched for metal bed frames were A LOT more expensive. Sure, if you have the money get yourself a good quality iron bed, by all means.. but if you're on a budget and are looking for a particular effect just get yourself this one and buy a sturdier frame for underneath the bed and you're good to go.8. Target: This wouldn't be a home decor post without mentioning target. I really love their Threshold collection and their room essentials collection.
Clear bottles are from Etsy |
9. Etsy: My go-to for pretty much all decor, this is another website that I always look at whenever I have something in particular in mid. I've purchased countless things from furniture to throw pillow covers to vintage amber bottles. If you like unique or antique pieces and haven't checked Etsy out I really don't know what you're waiting for! A lot of people are afraid of purchasing from websites likes this but I have NEVER had a bad experience with any of my purchases and believe me when I tell you I practically live on this website.
Accent Chair |
10. Overstock.com: The bomb for furniture at a discount! You definitely have to be looking for something specific and you do have to have patience and really scavenge through this site but you really do find some gems. I bought my living room accent chair there and you can find pretty much anything that you're looking for on this site.Special mentions:
- I know that this is a decor post but I just can't bring myself to exit this post without mentioning Ikea. I don't have a lot of decor from there but I really love their patio furniture, my couch is from there as well and they are my go-to for closet systems.
- Ebay has great vintage pieces, I usually check etsy first but eBay has some awesome options as well. I got my vanity chair from there.
