Little Wrap Dress

Just matching with the fruits. Here's a little shoot I did while filming my latest video which is a summer lookbook, be sure to check it out if you haven't already I had a lot of fun editing it :) I'm really going to miss summer dresses but I am most definitely not going to miss this ridiculous heat. Miami just gets hotter by the year and I've noticed that with each passing summer I have no choice but to wear less and less on my body during the day lol. This wrap dress is so perfect for these hot summer days.It is no surprise that I love warm neutral tones but lately I've really been loving reds, oranges and yellows so when I passed by this fruit tree I thought it would be the perfect video/photo backdrop.I paired the dress with my favorite woven bag, some lace up sandals and my new go-to necklace from cinco store. I'm really loving coin necklaces lately & even though this isn't exactly a coin it gives the same vibe, it is pretty subtle but makes such a statement.Outfit detailsDRESS (similar) | BAG | SANDALS (old from asos) | SUNGLASSES | BAR NECKLACE | COIN NECKLACE

Summer Fashion Trends I'm Loving

1. Linen: I feel like nothing says beach & summer quite like linen. I really love how airy and elegant this fabric is and I am so glad it's EVERYWHERE this summer. I honestly don't think it will ever go out of style and it is definitely a staple in my summer wardrobe.  I got these linen overalls not too long ago and I'm so in love with them, plus they're SO comfortable.

2. Wide Leg Trousers or Culottes: This is another trend that is everywhere this summer that I cannot get enough of. If you saw last weeks post you would've seen my current favorite culottes. Seriously, the most comfortable pants ever and very flattering. These pants are perfect to wear with very cropped or tied-up tops since they are normally very high-waisted.

3. Gingham: This pattern is making a major comeback and I am not mad at it. I styled this gingham romper a couple of weeks ago and that's definitely not the last of the gingham you'll be seeing from me this summer. 😉

4. Flatforms: .. and if they're espadrille then even better! If you read this post you would've seen me go on and on about how I've loved this style ever since I went to Greece. I'm so glad they're so popular here this summer.

5.Woven Bags: You guys have seen me wear my little woven bag a million times but really, I love any woven bag. Woven bags in general are a hit this summer and I absolutely love the touch it adds to every outfit.

6. Tie-up Cut-out Dresses: Doesn't necessarily have to be dresses, you can get this same effect with any really cropped top and flowy, high-waisted bottom that cinches at the waist. It's the peek of the midriff that I think is very flattering.

Culottes

When I first saw the culotte/wide leg pant trend I don't really know how I felt about it. It wasn't until I tried some on that I realized what all the fuss was about.

Sure they look cute and you can get away with wearing more cropped tops since they come up pretty high on the waist but aside from that they are INCREDIBLY comfortable.

If you read last week's Friday Five you would've seen me talk about flatforms & espadrilles. I'm going to have such a difficult time wearing anything else this summer.

Espadrilles really scream spring/summer and platforms or in this case "flatforms" make such a statement on a basic sandal.

& of course I had to pull out my favorite straw hat, this thing doesn't get a rest all summer long.

Silk

Silk is one of those fabrics that just feels so luxurious when you put it on. I feel as though everyone needs at least one silk piece in their closet. There is a difference between throwing on a basic tank and a basic silk tank. Silk just makes your outfit look and feel more put together with very minimal effort.

Take this jumpsuit for instance, It's very basic but I can easily dress it up or down and it will work either way because it is silk. I love the way it feels, it is not a heavy fabric at all so it is perfect for this time of year.

It tapers at the leg & has pockets which is seriously always a plus for me.

Got a couple of pieces from Grana's Chinese Silk collection & I seriously cannot believe the quality of them, they are all composed of 100% silk & are all so ridiculously comfortable.

You can receive 10% off their entire site + free shipping world wide for new customers by entering "GEMARYXGRANA" at checkout valid through the end of July.

The back has this beautiful cross detail and the front is a V-cut which is one of my favorite cuts in pretty much any top.

It ties at the waist so you have the ability to make them high, mid or low waisted.

Find this jumpsuit HERE.
